THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS
OF CRIME
Overture
They say that
during the Twentieth Century, the Devil once again came to Earth - for he
never gives up – and made a pact, on the Faubourg Saint Denis, on the
outskirts of Paris, with an old frame-maker at death’s door.
He made this man cut seven evil mirrors, set within the most exquisitely made
frames.
They say whoever watches himself be it just once in one of these mirrors, feels his main sin rise to its apex, develops unbelievable resources to satisfy his evil needs and gives in to the worst excesses of his darkest side.
They say the Devil’s aim is to launch a new era of Dark Ages and savagery for Mankind.
They also claim an angel came after him, hoping to track down each mirror and to destroy it by fire, thereby risking his soul…
But then they
say so many things…

THE
SEVEN DEADLY SINS
OF CRIME
Principle of the series
Seven distinct stories will follow the above introduction.
Each of these seven books shall tell the story of one specific character – none of whom will have any connection with the other stories’ heroes, so that each book can be read separately.
Only one recurrent
character shall intervene within each of these seven books.
His name is Sephir Lechevalier. He’s a young man with an angel face,
who seemingly appears out of nowhere. No matter what era of the 20th Century
the story occurs in, whether it is at the dawning of the century or nearing
the end, curiously, he always seems to be thirtysomething.
We shall see him tirelessly investigating the whereabouts of those mysterious seven ornate frames. He will be helped in his quest by a mysterious organization – meeting with its members in the most unusual of places : the Catacombs, cellars from an old vicarage, the ruins of an old Cathar commandery, and so on…
Then, having tracked down each frame, he must every time overcome obstacles and try to buy it or steal it, each time facing a different monster of hubris who is prepared to go to any lengths to keep the frame…
Eventually victorious, he each time burns the frame he’s found so as to destroy, little by little, the terrifying evil spell destined to lead the century to an apocalypse of fire and blood.
And once he’s
done, he starts once more, restlessly, to search for the next frame…
